Generally, ADA is lower than enrollment due to such factors as transiency, dropouts, and illness. A school district's revenue limit income is based on its ADA. (Ed-data)

is the reporting of students in a classroom on CBEDS day (October) or any day in February and is used for calculating the cohort survival (student projections) for use in justifying State Aid projects. It is reduced by 3% for average absences. The cohort survival projections are calculated on a one year basis for State Aid Emergency Relocatables and a 3/4 year or 5/6 year projection for modernization and new construction justification purposes. The cohort survival projections are based on a weighted average attendance of the current year and the three previous historical years of attendance.
The aggregate attendance of a school during a reporting period (normally a school year) divided by the number of days school is in session during this period. Only days on which the pupils are under the guidance and direction of teachers should be considered days in session.
