Definitions for "Base pay"
The annual salary of an employee, which may be used as a basis for computing premium pay, retirement annuity, etc. Base pay does not include locality pay, bonuses, or incentives, which are referred to as variable pay. Used interchangeably with the term salary.
The rate of pay approved for an employee in a position exclusive of any additional pay, such as supplements, bonuses, longevity pay, temporary salary adjustments, shift differential pay, or on-call pay.
An individual's basic earned wage or salary, excluding overtime, bonuses and unearned income.
