Binz was a German coachbuilding company which built double-cab Type 2's from 1955 to 1959 (before Volkswagen did). The Binz double-cab can be recognised by the long, 'suicide-hinged' crew cab door. They can, unfortunately, also be recognised by a tendency to rust even quicker than a comparable factory single-cab, due to poor workmanship and paint. illustrate
Binz is the largest seaside resort on the German island of Rügen. Apart from the numerous early 20th century hotels and villas in the city center and along the seaside promenade, its main attractions are the 370m Seebrücke (Pier), the mid-19th Century Jagdschloss Granitz and the enormous Prora complex just north of the city.
