Think of this as on site maintenance and repair of medical and healthcare equipment. While the Maintenance Dept is repairing a light switch or HVAC, Biomed may be repairing some fall risk monitors or the nurse call system.

The Biomedical Research Institute or BIOMED (Biomedisch Onderzoeksinstituut) was founded on 1 January 1999 to combine the expertise of the former Dr. L. Willems-Instituut and the Medical faculty of the University of Hasselt (Belgium). The institute is located in Diepenbeek, Belgium.
