Braga (pron. IPA []), a city and municipality in northwestern Portugal, is the capital of the district of Braga, the oldest archdiocese and one of the major cities of the country.

The District of Braga (pron. ) is located in the Northwest of Portugal, the District Capital is the city of Braga. It is bordered by Viana do Castelo district in the north, Vila Real district in the east and Porto district in the south. Its area is 2673 km² and it has a population of 831,368.
