Definitions for "Caturra"
An Arabica cultivar developed from Bourbon. Small in size but quite dense with growth, it requires greater inputs than older Arabicas but rewards the grower for it with higher yields and fine quality.
A relatively recently selected botanical variety of the Coffea Arabica species that generally matures more quickly, produces more coffee, and is more disease resistant than older, traditional Arabica varieties.
A hybrid of the Coffea Arabica species that is fast maturing, and more disease resistant than other Arabica varieties. The quality of this coffee is, at this time, considered inferior and less interesting than the traditional Arabica varieties.
