A long, curved convolution of the medial surface of the cortical hemisphere.
This structure mediates information between the cortex and the limbic structures. It is located between them.
A convolution (gyrus) which is arch-shaped and closely adjacent to the surface of the corpus collosum, from which is it separated by the callosal sulcus.
This area, together with the parahippocampal gyrus and the olfactory bulbs, comprises the limbic cortex, which modifies behavior and emotions.
Cingulate gyrus (lat. belt ridge) is a gyrus in the medial part of the brain. It partially wraps around the corpus callosum and is limited above by the cingulate sulcus.
