Definitions for "Confessor"
One who confesses; one who acknowledges a fault, or the truth of a charge, at the risk of suffering; specifically, one who confesses himself a follower of Christ and endures persecution for his faith.
Conessors were created during the ancient Wizard Wars. Confessors appear to be ordinary women, distinguished by the length of their hair, and their dresses, made of simple black fabric, cut with a square neckline. They serve as a balance of power in the Midlands. A Confessor's power works by taking the spark of love in someone, no matter how tiny, and build on it, turning it into complete devotion to the Confessor. One touched by a Confessor will do anything she says, including confessing the truth of any crime he may have committed, hence the name "Confessor." The Confessor's power works, not by bringing forth the power, but simply by releasing restraint on that power while touching the intended target. The average Confessor's power takes about a day to recover. In a male, the Confessor's power takes no time to recover, and is stronger, but men are also easily corrupted by the power. Because all Confessor's children are Confessors as well, and male child born to a Confessor must be killed at birth.
