Definitions for "Contraparallel"
There can be Contraparallels of Latitude (when two planets have equal but opposite latitudes measured north and south of the Ecliptic) and Contraparallels of Declination (when two planets have equal but opposite declinations measured north and south of the Celestial Equator).
An aspect formed when two planets are in opposite declination, that is, when they are the same distance from the celestial equator, one north of it and one south. Generally considered to operate like an opposition.
An aspect in declination when two planets have (within a 1° orb) the same degree of declination, but one is North and the other is South. Read by most astrologers as similar to an opposition.
