Definitions for "Crossflow"
To flow across, or in a contrary direction.
A type of membrane filtration where the pressurized feed stream flows parallel to the membrane surface to continuously wash concentrated contaminants away from the membrane surface.
Flow of solution parallel to the upstream surface of the membrane (see also Tangential Flow Filtration). This contrasts with direct flow seen in traditional filters, in which the liquid flows perpendicular to the surface of the filter.
