The general name for any number of wipe-on coatings based on tung or linseed oil, with solvents and resins added to enhance both drying and performance.
A wipe-on (or brush-on /wipe-off) drying oil finish that is a blend of linseed oil, driers and alkyd resin. Among brands of Danish oil are are Watco, and Minwax Antique Oil Finish.
Used as a wood finish to preserve wood and to impart a sheen, this blend of drying oil and plastic in a vehicle such as mineral spirits is also sometimes used to stain wood. Also called Antique Oil.
