LABILE TOXIN (LT). The toxin produced by E. coli that has effects similar to those of cholera toxin, but is less suppressive of IL-12 production. It, and mutant forms that have reduced enzymatic activity and are less toxic, have been found to be potent mucosal adjuvants.
