Except for the old Band, this is a rating system used in online backgammon servers to calculate how strong the player is. Before you play against another player it is advised to know his ELO and be prepared.
The rating system that POP uses to calculate a POP player's rankings. It is based on the formula developed by Professor Arpad Elo. POP's ELO rating system is similar to the system originally used in most competitive chess events.
