Electronic services for employees to access or edit information previously controlled by an internal support staff. Examples are procurement (ordering supplies) or human resources (training registration or update of benefit choices).
Using web technology, employees can access the core HRMS to view and in certain cases, amend their own data, including name and contact details, dependant's etc. Employees can also access details of their benefits, especially useful where flexible benefits policies are in place; self-nomination on training events is a further activity. The advantages of Employee Self-Service are more accurate data and reducing the workload on the HR function.
An application that gives an employee electronic access to personal data in the company files and allows the employee to review, print out, and/or update some portions of that data.
