In Roman mythology, the Fides ("faith") was the goddess of loyalty. Her temple on the Capitol was where the Roman Senate kept state treaties with foreign countries, where Fides protected them.
Very fine noodles used in Middle Eastern pilafs. Vermicelli is too thick to use as a substitute. Fides is the Greek word; Shehrieh is the Syrian for this noodle.
