Definitions for "Filled land"
An area of a property where the grade has been raised by depositing dirt, gravel or rock. Under most circumstances a seller (broker) has a duty to disclose to a buyer the fact that a property is on filled land.
A subaerial soil area composed of a variety of fill materials (construction debris, dredged or pumped sediments, etc.) deposited and smoothed to provide building sites and associated uses (e.g. lawns, driveways, parking lots). These fill materials are typically 0.5 to 3 m thick and have been deposited unconformably over natural soils (Schoeneberger and Wysocki, 2005). Compare – Dredge Spoil Bank.
