also known as rough cut see rough cut.
Term given to a section of rough (or higher grass) directly bordering a fairway. The first cut of rough is deemed to be considered "light" rough and may vary from a few yards wide to over 10 yards wide, depending upon the course.
Usually the editor's arrangement of dailies based on what is in the script. Has a very raw and unfinished look usually not even having music. This cut will indefinitely change when the producer and director see it.
