Formal Public Identifier The FPI is part of the Document Type Declaration ( DTDecl). This is an identifier (a statement) informing a user agent what kind of document follows. It is usually followed by a URI where the relevant DTD can be found. Example:!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0//EN" This FPI reads: The type of document that follows is an HTML document. The DTD is publically available (not on a private system). The DTD is not an ISO standard (indicated by the -). The owner of the DTD is the W3C. The SGML application is HTML. The release of HTML is 4.0. The specification is in English.
Formal Public Identifier. A text string that serves as a structured citation to an SGML object such as an entity, a DTD, or an element. An FPI includes the name of its owner, the class of objects to which the associated item belongs (e.g., DTD, entity), an arbitrary description of the object, its language, and, optionally, its version. Public identifiers contrast with system identifiers that identify an SGML object by citing a system-specific characteristic, such as a URL or a file name that physically locates the object in a file storage system.
A character string representing an SGML Formal Public Identifier.

Fire Potential Index. Developed by USGS and USFS to assess and map fire hazard potential over broad areas. Based on such geographic information, national policy makers and on-the-ground fire managers established priorities for prevention activities in the defined area to reduce the risk of managed and wildfire ignition and spread. Prediction of fire hazard shortens the time between fire ignition and initial attack by enabling fire managers to pre-allocate and stage suppression forces to high fire risk areas.
final payment indicator. The Final Payment indicator field is set to "F" when you want to close out a commodity line because it has been completely paid. If any open commodities exist, Banner will liquidate the encumbrance for the input amount only. If there are no other commodities, the system totally liquidates the encumbrance. This eliminates the need to do an encumbrance liquidation journal later. It also prevents you from ever getting into that line item again any additional transactions, such as a credit memo. The Final Payment Indicator does not automatically default when the item is paid for; it must be manually entered.
