Fiber To The Node. A fiber optic access network where fiber optic cable is terminated at an access node. From this node, usually services are delivered to customer premises via twisted pair cable using some sorts of xDSL or in some cases a wireless technology.
Fiber To The Node or Fiber To The Neighborhood
(fibre-to-the-node) refers to the installation of optical fibre to within several hundred metres of the home or office. At that point, optical signals are converted into electronic signals for delivery into the home or office.
