Definitions for "G.722"
Keywords:  khz, kbps, kbit, adpcm, itu
A coding technology developed in the late 70s and designed primarily for speech. Uses one 56 or 64 kbps data call and codes only 50Hz-7kHz of audio frequency. G.722 is popular in the broadcast community due to the very low coding delay. Data reduction is achieved by coding only the difference between successive samples.
48 - ADPCM
An ITU-T recommendation detailing a 7-KHz bandwidth audio coding algorithm working at 64-Kbps. It forms a part of the H.320 codec requirements. G.722 produces good quality audio but is generally not recommended at aggregate bit rates below 256 Kbps.
