Definitions for "GDM"
Gestational Diabetes Mellitus. A type of diabetes that develops during pregnancy and usually disappears after delivery. Having GDM increases the riskĀ of developing diabetes later on in life.
Gestational diabetes mellitus. A form of diabetes that has its onset during pregnancy, usually in the last trimester.
Gestational Diabetes Mellitus. A type of diabetes mellitus that can occur when a woman is pregnant. In the second half of the pregnancy, the woman may have glucose (sugar) in the blood at a higher than normal level. However, when the pregnancy ends, the blood glucose levels return to normal in about 95 percent of all cases.
