Also known as "glob of junk." Gunk consists of hair, oil, skin, dirt, water and shaving lubricant. All shaving razors have a "gunk factor", that is they collect gunk on one side of the blade as you shave. A razor is considered more or less efficient, dependant upon the speed in which gunk accumulates, and the quantity of it's accumulation. Head shavers react to the build up of gunk by either rinsing their razors or increasing the pressure that is placed on the shaving utensil.
