Definitions for "High contrast"
In photography, a reproduction with high gamma in which the difference in darkness (density) between neighbouring areas is greater than in the original.
A scene where the range between the brightest and darkest areas is extreme, or is such that it may cause exposure problems. A film that renders scenes in high-contrast fashion. The absence of middle grays.
A term that indicates that there are few, if any, tonal gradations between dark and light areas. Also, a photographic reproduction that contains higher than normal density levels. See also CONTRAST DENSITY GRADATION HALFTONE
