The Il'Ri'Kamm Hive Mind, known as 'Hivers' to outsiders, is a transdimensional entity that had its origins eons ago as a convenient artificial intelligence for a race known as the Kamir. After trying to exterminate the Kamir, the Hivers turned their sights on the psionically powerful B'hiri - and used the means to travel faster-than-light with OtherSpace Drives as bait to trap unsuspecting sentients, turning them into soldiers to fight a genocidal war for the Hivers. Before the B'hiri could be wiped out, the Hiver core on Sagittarius was destroyed. But actions by those aboard Sanctuary in 2652 enabled the Hivers to thrive again in normalspace. The Hivers and Kamir mutually destroyed each other in 3002, making both omnipotent species extinct.
