Hong Kong Monetary Authority. The government monetary authority maintains currency stability (using a currency board system), manages the Exchange Fund, and implements monetary policy. It regulates and supervises banking and deposit-taking institutions, and is responsible for the efficiency, integrity, and development of the financial system, particularly payment and settlement arrangements.
