(ICSI) An in vitro fertilisation technique for overcoming infertility due to oligospermia or azoospermia involving sperm microinjection (SMI), in which one or more sperm are injected through the zona pellucida, across the perivitelline space, through the vitelline membrane (the egg cell's membrane), and into the substance (or cytoplasm) of the egg itself. Has completely replaced subzonal sperm insertion (SUZI).
Method of microsurgical fertilization in which a single sperm is injected directly into an oocyte, bypassing the natural barriers (cellular mass and membrane) protecting the oocyte. ICSI is indicated in cases of severe male infertility, when only very few normal sperm are found in a man's semen, or when the fertilizing ability of sperm is drastically diminished.
ICSI, a form of micromanipulation, involves the injection of a single sperm directly into the mature egg (oocyte). The process increases the likelihood of fertilization when there are abnormalities in the number, quality or function of the sperm. ICSI is not recommended for treating fertilization failures the result from poor egg quality.
Injection of a single sperm into an egg in a laboratory. This process might increase the likelihood of fertilization of an egg if fertility problems are a result of problems with sperm.
An assisted reproductive method in which a sperm is injected directly into an unfertilized egg with a microscopic needle; this procedure is used in cases of severe male factor infertility.
the introduction of a sperm cell into the cytoplasm of a mature oocyte using an injection pipette, potentially resulting in fertilization of the oocyte
This is used when there is male-factor infertility and involves extracting a single sperm and injecting it into an egg while working under a microscope using specialized equipment.
A procedure in which a single sperm is injected into a mature egg. Normally offered to couples where the male sperm count is low or there is poor motility. It can also be offered to couples who have experienced failed fertilisation following IVF.
micromanipulation procedure that injects a single sperm into an egg. This technique is used in cases of drastically reduced sperm counts or where the sperm is too weak for conventional IVF.
A micromanipulation technique that involves injecting a sperm directly into an egg in order to facilitate fertilization.
technique in which an individual sperm is injected into the nucleus of an individual egg, usually as a treatment for male infertility.
A robotic microscope is used to inject one sperm into an immature female egg (oocyte) in order to produce an embryo, a fertilized egg.
Fertilization by direct injection of sperm into the cytoplasm of an aid. ICSI can be used as a means of transfection.
The process in which sperm are removed directly from a man's testicles and a single sperm is directly injected into a woman's egg.
A form of IVF used to treat male infertility in which a single sperm is injected directly into the cytoplasm of an egg
Direct injection of a single sperm into an egg under microscope (micromanipulation).
an in vitro fertilization procedure that requires the direct injection of a single sperm into an ovum to conceive.
A micromanipulation procedure in which a single sperm is injected directly into an egg to attempt fertilization—used in cases of male infertility or couples with prior unsuccessful IVF fertilization.
A procedure in which a single sperm is injected directly into an egg; this procedure is most commonly used to overcome male infertility problems. ( More? Week 1 Notes)
A technique in which a single sperm cell is injected through a microsurgical needle directly into the cytoplasm of an egg to facilitate fertilization
A laboratory procedure in which a single sperm is injected directly into an egg cell for the purpose of attempting fertilization.
An assisted conception treatment, undertaken as part of in vitro fertilisation (IVF) treatment, in which a single sperm is injected directly into the cytoplasm of an egg to achieve fertilisation.
ICSI is a procedure in which a single sperm is injected directly into an egg. This technique is used to overcome severe male infertility. (details)
ICSI is a micromanipulation technique requires the penetration of the zona pellucida and oolemma of the egg with a sharp glass tool through which a single, selected sperm is introduced directly into the cytoplasm.
A micromanipulation procedure where a single sperm is injected into the egg to enable fertilisation with very low sperm counts or with nonmotile sperm.
A micromanipulation procedure, ICSI is used most commonly in cases of severe male infertility. It involves injection of a single sperm directly into the core of an egg.
A procedure to correct male infertility in which a single sperm is injected into a mature egg so that fertilization can take place in the laboratory.
A breakthrough technique where a single sperm can by microsurgically injected into the cytoplasm of an egg to develop into a fertilized embryo. Procedure has given new hope to men with poor semen quality or azozoospermia.
A laboratory procedure in which sperm and eggs are retrieved from both partners. A single sperm is injected directly into an egg, then the fertilized egg is implanted into the woman's uterus.
Laboratory procedure that involves the injection by microscopic guidance of a single sperm into a mature egg.
A microinsemination procedure where a single sperm is directly inserted into an individual egg.
An assisted fertilization technique in which a single sperm is injected into a single egg and the resulting embryo is transplanted into the uterus.
Modification of the basic IVF technique used to assist couples with severe male infertility; a single sperm is injected into an egg to aid fertilization. Abbreviated as "ICSI."
a delicate procedure in which a single sperm is placed inside a single egg by micromanipulator injection. The sperm is thus relieved of the work of penetrating the several layers which surround, nourish, and protect the egg.
An infertility treatment in which a single sperm is injected directly into an egg. The resulting embryo is transplanted into the woman's uterus. Intracytoplasmic sperm injection is a helpful treatment for couples dealing with infertility resulting from weak sperm.
Also referred to as ICSI. Involves the injection of a single sperm directly into the cytoplasm of a mature egg using a glass needle.
A laboratory procedure in which a single sperm is directly inserted into an individual egg.
A procedure in which a single sperm is injected into the egg to enable fertilization with very low sperm counts or with non-motile sperm.
( ICSI ) - A specific technique of in vitro fertilisation ( IVF) treatment whereby a sperm is manually introduced inside the egg. ( more...)
