The Agreement between the Government of Australia and the Government of Japan for the Protection of Migratory Birds and Birds in Danger of Extinction and their Environment (dated 1974) is a treaty that aims to minimise harm to: a) major areas used by birds that migrate between Japan and Australia; and b) birds (some endemic) within Japan and Australia in danger of extinction.
