John Carroll (16 August 1891 – 4 October 1971) was an Australian recipient of the Victoria Cross, the highest and most prestigious award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces.
John Benson Carroll (born October 13, 1921 in The Pas, Manitoba; died December 1986) was a politician in Manitoba, Canada. He was a Progressive Conservative member of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba from 1958 to 1969, and served as a cabinet minister in the governments of Dufferin Roblin and Walter Weir.

Bishop John Theodore Carroll, SJ, (January 8 1735 – December 3 1815) was the first bishop and archbishop in the United States — serving as the ordinary of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Baltimore. He is best known as the founder of Georgetown University, the oldest Catholic school in the United States, and the Georgetown Preparatory School, the oldest Catholic day and boarding school in the United States. He is also the namesake of John Carroll University, which, like Georgetown University, is among the twenty-eight member institutions of the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities.
John Carroll was a Provisional Sinn Fein member and stood in Laois Offaly in numerous elections. He also contested seats for Offaly County Council, and for Birr Urban District Council (now Birr Town Council).
