Sir John Evans (17 November, 1823 – 31 May, 1908) was an English archaeologist and geologist.
John Evans (9 March, 1814 – 3 July, 1897) was a US politician, physician, railroad promoter, and namesake of Evanston, Illinois, Evans, Colorado and Mount Evans, Colorado. He is most noted for being one of the founders of both Northwestern University and the University of Denver.
