The ratio, expressed in per cent, of the strength of a section of riveted or welded joint to the strength of an analogous section of solid plate.
The strength of a welded joint expressed as a percentage of the strength of the unwelded base metal.
The usable strength of strapping is only as powerful as the joint holding the two strap ends together. Joint efficiency is expressed as a % of the total breaking strength of the strapping.
