Definitions for "Laggard"
Because life used to be nasty, brutish, and short, and one had to keep up with the pack or risk being eaten by wild animals, every language has its own way of contemptuously describing someone who goes slowly, and falls behind. Laggard is how the Norwegians say it. Those of us who live in "civilized" societies, however, often find that the more we lag, the less likely we are to die young. See: DAWDLE.
