Long Distance Relationships
This stands for long distance relationship. Basically, with the advent of the Internet, the concept of LDRs gained in popularity because frequently, or actually most of the time, the person you met on the 'net would live far, far away. So the LDR was invented, and it was quickly shown (through scientific observation of laboratory tests) that LDRs are bad for your health, and are doomed to failure 90% of the time. The remaining 10% are either lies or amazing luck, but they act as a carrot for future fools.
Short for "Long Distance Relationship," especially common on the Internet.
Let-down ratio used in coloring plastics with color concentrates, etc. (e.g., 20:1 is 20 pounds of natural resin to 1 pound of colorant).
Linear Dynamic Range. The concentration range over which the analytical working calibration curve remains linear.
limiting draw ratio. The greatest ratio of blank diameter to punch diameter that can be successfully cup-drawn to a particular depth. This is a standard measurement of drawability. See Figure L3a – b for a depiction of the limiting draw ratio tooling setup. See deformation limit.
