Littorinimorpha is an important taxonomic infraorder of snails that includes the genus Oncomelania. Snails in this genus, such as Oncomelania hupensis and Oncomelania nosophora, are part of the life cycle of the schistosoma blood fluke and the paragonimus lung fluke.
