Laminated Object Manufacturing. A laser cuts the outline of a cross section of the CAD file into an ultra thin layer of modeling material. A new layer of material is then indexed, bonded to the previous layers, and cut. This process is repeated using very thin layers of material.
Laminated Object Manufacturing Profiles of object cross sections are cut from butcher paper using a laser. The paper is unwound from a feed roll onto the stack and bonded to the previous layer using a heated roller. The process is marketed commercially by Helisys who have currently ceased trading.
Learning Object Model.
An agreement between the European Union and poor countries in Africa, the Caribbean and the Pacific. It gave these countries free market access to the EU for specific products. It is now being renegotiated.
Convention A series of agreements between the European Economic Community (EEC) and a group of African, Caribbean, and Pacific (ACP) states, mainly former Euopean colonies, that provide duty- free or preferential access to the EEC maket for almost all ACP exports. The Stabilization of Export Earnings (Stabex) scheme, a mechanism set up by the Lomé Convention; provides for compensation for ACP export lost thorugh fluctuations in the world prices of agricultural commodities. The Lomé Convention also provides for limited EEC development aid and investment funds to be disbursed to ACP recipients thourgh the European Development Fund and the European Investment Bank. The Lomé Convention is updated about every five years. Lomé I, took effect on April 1, 1976; Lomé II, on January 1, 1981; Lomé III, on March 1, 1985; and Lomé IV, on December 15, 1989.

Compass Locater at Outer Marker
compass Locator at Outer Marker Mach number. Ratio of true airspeed to the speed of sound.
Locator, Outer Marker. A NDB that is co-located with the Outer Marker associated with an ILS. This allows using the ADF for orientation on the approach.
Lights Out Management. Lights Out Management (LOM) is the ability for a system administrator to monitor and manage servers by remote control. A complete LOM system consists of a hardware component called the LOM module and a program that facilitates the continuous monitoring of variables, such as microprocessor temperature and utilization. The program also allows for such remote operations as rebooting, shutdown, troubleshooting, alarm setting, fan-speed control and operating system reinstallation.
