Minute of Angle. This is an angular unit of measurement which is approximately 1.1" at 100 yards. This term is typically used in defining the click adjustments on a rifle scope.
Minute of angle. In this context, angular change in aim that moves the point of impact of a rifle bullet one inch at 100 yards; only approximately a true mathematical minute of angle.
inute ngle. This is basically equates to 1 inch of variance for every 100 yards of distance. A rifle which keeps within 1 MOA is VERY good and can expect to be no further than 1 inch off the mark at 100 yards, 2 inches at 200, 3 at 300, etc... Most rifles never see their full MOA potential because the operator isn't a 1 MOA marksman

Military Operations Area. A MOA is airspace designated outside of Class A airspace to separate or segregate certain nonhazardous military activities from IFR traffic and to identify for VFR traffic where these activities are conducted.

The Misty 1, 2 and 3 MOAs are over Lake Ontario and the nearby shorelines. Most military training operations heard by scanner listeners in upstate New York appear to be conducted in the Misty airspace. Special flight corridors are designated for aerial refueling. Some are rectangular tracks in the sky, while others are straight lines. One such straight track runs from near Syracuse to northern Lake Erie and is called AR-206.
