Multinational corporations are those which exist in many countries of the world and are not subject to the laws of any one state. If a state tried to subject the corporation to the laws of the state, the corporation could simply move its operations to another state. In some ways the multinational corporation (also known as a "transnational corporation") is more powerful than any state. Huge protest rallies have been staged around the world objecting to these corporations and their power over elected governments.
