The word peelo is a Finnish internet slang term, commonly used of internet users with limited knowledge in netiquette, provocative or aggressive behaviour toward other users, excessive use of exclamation and query marks as well as smilies, capital letters and colors, and many other such negative qualities. It is often used in the similar manner as the English term newbie. The term is said to originate from the actions of the Matriculation Examination chief board member Pekka Elo on IRC and certain newsgroups around the year 1995.
