An inexpensive replacement for LocalTalk wiring and connectors. PhoneNet (developed by Farallon) uses ordinary telephone cables and connectors to allow computers using AppleTalk to network.
A LocalTalk cabling clone first produced by Farallon. PhoneNet uses regular phone cabling as the transmission media for the LocalTalk protocol. It is much cheaper and more robust that the orginal Apple name-brand LocalTalk cabling. Since its introduction, Farallon's PhoneNet cabling system has been cloned many times.
An adapter that enabled LocalTalk networks to operate over standard silver-satin telephone wiring, rather than Apple's proprietary LocalTalk cables.
