French cabaret singer (1915-1963)

"Piaf" is a biographical play about French chanteuse Edith Piaf. The play was written by Pam Gems. It debuted in London, and eventually came to Broadway in 1981 with its original star, British actress Jane Lapotaire, in the title role.
