Definitions for "Plug flow"
Flow in which fluid particles are discharged from a tank or pipe in the same order in which they entered it. The particles retain their discrete identities and remain in the tank for a time equal to the theoretical detention time.
A flow value which is used to describe a constant hydrologic condition.
Type of flow the occurs in tanks, basins, or reactors when a slug of water moves through without ever dispersing or mixing with the rest of the water flowing through.
