Pradesh (Hindī: प्रदेश, Urdū: پردیش) is an Indian province. The name means a (subdivision or) division of a Desh or country. Pradesh is usually translated as a State, in parallel of the states of the United States of America, but the Indian pradesh does not have the same status, rights and dignity as these states.
