Engaging in sexual intercourse with more than one partner (this dictionary definition, including the use of "indiscriminately," is not pejorative here, but refers to multiple-sex partners over a relatively short period of time).

"Promiscuous" is a pop rap song recorded by Nelly Furtado and Timbaland for Furtado's third album Loose (2006). The song was written by Furtado, Timothy "Attitude" Clayton, Timbaland and Nate Hills, and produced by Timbaland and Danja. "Promiscuous" was released as the album's first single in North America in early 2006 (see 2006 in music) and as the second single elsewhere in mid-2006.

The term used to describe animals that copulate with several different partners within a short time span. Although the pair bond in Purple Martins is monogamous, males are highly promiscuous and will copulate (often forcibly) with any fertile female they can. Recent evidence suggests that subadult female martins are also highly promiscuous, "wanting" their eggs to be fertilized by older, genetically superior males. Referring to a mating system where a member of one sex mates with more than one member of the other sex, and each relationship is ephemeral and terminates after mating without a social bond being formed.
