Radiological Dispersal Device (a.k.a. "dirty bomb")
Radiological Dispersion Device. Commonly known as a 'Dirty Bomb', designed to disperse radioactive material, with or without explosive.
Radiological dispersal device. A device that involves radioactive materials and some method by which those materials can be spread over a wide area. It can be a variety of sizes, and the radiation can cause contamination, economic and some physical harm. One type of RDD is the popularly named "dirty bomb." A dirty bomb uses the force of conventional explosives, such as TNT, to scatter radioactive material.
random digit dialling.
Random Digit Dialing. The method of randomly selecting phone numbers to be called. This is most often done by computer and allows for an equal chance for all the numbers in the sample to be dialed.
RANDOM DIGIT DIALING. Techniques that form samples by adding random digits to the telephone prefixes that fall within the sampling area so as to include listed (published) and unlisted numbers in the sample.
Rational drug design. The design of a drug molecule based on knowledge of the pharmacologically relevant characteristics of the target protein structure, as obtained by x-ray crystallographic methods.

Reaffirmation Agreement
Regional Deposited Dose. The deposited dose of particles calculated for a respiratory tract region of interest (r) as related to an observed toxicity. For respiratory effects of particles, the deposited dose is adjusted for ventilatory volumes and the surface area of the respiratory region effected (mg/min-sq. cm). For extra respiratory effects of particles, the deposited dose in the total respiratory system is adjusted for ventilatory volumes and body weight (mg/min-kg).
