Definitions for "Referrers"
(or referring agencies) are individuals and agencies that suggest, encourage, recommend or direct the use of ADR (or other) services. Examples are courts, legal practitioners, community agencies, professionals, friends and relatives. (NADRAC's Standards Report)
URLs denoting the portals or Web sites through which another site is reached.
Sites that send visitors to your site through a link/banner ad. "None" is also a referrer, showing visitors who come directly to your site through a non web site link such as typing your address or clicking in an email, or who have their browsers set to not transfer referrer data. Your own web site also shows up as a referrer. See Proxy Hosts.
Website tracking statistics, better than just raw numbers, a referrer will show you which site referred the visitor to your site, what operating system they were using, often what country they came from, and what key word from what search engine brought them to you.
