Definitions for "Remedial design"
The process following finalization of a Record of Decision in which plans and specifications are developed for the implementation of the alternative selected to remediate (clean up) a site.
An engineering phase that follows the Record of Decision, in which technical drawings and specifications are developed for the subsequent remedial action at a site on the National Priorities List.
The design of a cleanup system. It may include developing engineering plans and specifications, and bidding documents for construction of the system.
