When a debt is not paid, and the exporter agrees a repayment plan

The re-negotiation of the terms of existing debts. The term is usually used with reference to LDC debt. The term rescheduling is considered to be refinancing to avoid any implication of default. Major sovereign debt rescheduling for Brazil, and Mexico have been undertaken in recent years.

Drawing up a new timetable, i.e. changing the due dates for an activity when it is out of phase.

The process of changing order or operation due dates, usually as a result of their being out of phase with when they are needed.

Extending the length of time required to pay the loan which adjusts the monthly payment.
