Definitions for "Roadblocks"
the United States Supreme Court has held that roadblocks or checkpoints do not violate the Fourth Amendment’s prohibition against unreasonable searches and seizures. However, many state courts have held that such roadblocks violate the state’s constitution. In addition, depending upon the circumstances, roadblocks may violate state and federal driver protection provisions (e.g., The Driver’s Privacy Protection Act of 1994).
