Reid Vapor Pressure ARA Superfund Amendment and Reauthorization Act
Reid Vapor Pressure. This is the vapor pressure of gasoline under a closed vessel at 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Summer months require a lower RVP so that gasoline does not evaporate before it can combust in a gasoline engine. Winter months require a higher RVP so that gasoline does not vapor lock before it can combust in a gasoline engine.
Reid vapor pressure, a measure of the vapor pressure of a liquid fuel in pounds per square inch absolute at 100 F.
Reid vapor pressure. A measure of the volatility of hydrocarbons. The Reid test can measure volatility at any practical temperature. A testing temperature must accompany any RVP report to make it most informative. Ordinarily, the feedstock and petroleum products trade uses RVP numbers measured at 100F.
Reid Vapor Pressure. a common measure of gasoline volatility. Volatility is the property of a liquid fuel that defines its evaporation characteristics. EPA regulates the vapor pressure of all gasoline during the summer months (June 1 to September 15) in order to reduce evaporative emissions that contribute to smog.
Reid Vapor Pressure. A measure of product volatility, measured in pounds per square inch (psi). The higher the RVP, the more volatile a gasoline is and the more readily it evaporates.
Reid Vapor Pressure. A standard measurement of a liquid's vapor pressure in psi at 100 degrees Fahrenheit. It is an indication of the propensity of the liquid to evaporate.
Reid vapor pressure. A measure of the volatility of petroleum products that is done by testing vapor pressure at 100 degrees Fahrenheit in pounds/square inch.
