The regulatory body supervising exchanges, clearing houses, and central depositories. The SC registers prospectuses of corporations (other than unlisted recreational clubs), approves corporate bond issues, regulates securities and futures contracts, take-overs and mergers, and unit trust schemes. It licenses and supervises market participants, encourages self-regulation, and ensures proper conduct of market institutions and licensed persons. Also called Suruhanjaya Sekuriti.
