State Environmental Policy Act, the name of an Act , in Washington, which is designed to protect the natural resources of the state. SEPA checklists are completed by an applicant and reviewed by a lead agency. If there is a significant environmental impact an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) will be required.See DNS.
Scottish Environmental Protection Agency. SEPA is the Government Executive Agency responsible for environmental protection in Scotland. It was established under the Environment Act 1995 and its main aim is: “to provide an efficient and integrated environmental protection system for Scotland which will both improve the environment and contribute to the Government's goal of sustainable development”.

State Environmental Policy Act. A state law (Chapter 43.21C RCW) that requires state agencies and local governments to consider environmental impacts when making decisions about certain activities, such as development proposals over a certain size, and comprehensive plans. As part of this process, environmental impacts are documented and opportunities for public comment are provided.
"State Environmental Policy Act" -- Refers to the Washington law that requires a review of new development projects or master plans (including the City's Comprehensive Plan) for conformity with environmental protections.
